As a former police prosecutor in the Mackay region, Rob has the knowledge and expertise to provide his clients with clear and realistic advice, protecting their rights and ensuring fairness.

Rob started his legal career working in private practice in New South Wales.  He acted for secured and unsecured creditors in insolvency situations and was involved in litigation on behalf of liquidators, bankruptcy trustees and banks.  Rob also acted on matters involving recovering assets on behalf of creditors, when police had seized property under proceeds of crime legislation.

Rob joined the Queensland Police Service in 2018.  During his time as a Police Prosecutor, he gained extensive experience appearing on behalf of the QPS in the Magistrates, Children’s, Murri and Domestic Violence Courts in Mackay, Proserpine, Bowen and Sarina.

As a Prosecutor, Rob was exposed to a full range of criminal charges from traffic and drug matters to the more complex committal charges (e.g. rape, fraud and murder).  He has also appeared regularly on bail applications/summary trials.

Rob helped the QPS successfully bring charges against a multitude of offenders in relation to drug, assault, theft, traffic, dishonesty, domestic violence and murder charges.

During his time at QPS, Rob was also the designated Circuit Court prosecutor, Childrens’ Court prosecutor, Domestic Violence prosecutor and case conferencing prosecutor.  He trained and supervised junior prosecutors and was acting Senior Prosecutor and acting Officer in Charge on many occasions.

With a thorough understanding of both the police prosecution and private practice elements of the legal system, Rob has decided to return to his roots, to defend clients who have had criminal and/or traffic charges brought against them.

Together with fellow criminal defence lawyer Marcus Hahn, Rob helps achieve the best possible outcome for clients during a challenging stage of their life.
